3-2-1 blast off! This year’s JASON Expedition is about to take off! The Maritime Museum will host the JASON Project for the eighth year, and this year, we are exploring Mars!

JASON Expedition: The Mysteries of Earth & Mars will bring close to 1500 local school children through the museum to experience live broadcasts and engaging learning activities. School groups from Santa Barbara and Ventura counties will visit the museum during the week of January 30 through February 3 to join Dr. Bob Ballard and his team of scientists in their exploration of our sister planet Mars.

The JASON Project will engage students and teachers in an exciting journey of discovery to explore earth’s sister planet and uncover the similarities between Earth and Mars. This year’s JASON Expedition will explore a variety of topics including how to design and build a spacecraft to explore mars, comparing and contrasting the history and geology of Earth and Mars, and studying extreme places and life forms on Earth to gain insight into possible life on Mars!

The Maritime Museum is offering an opportunity to bring your class to the Maritime Museum for the interactive live-telecast experience. Teachers will need to register early to be a part of this year’s JASON experience. Sign up today!
