Santa Barbara Maritime Museum To Partner With Girl Scouts of California’s Central Coast Again to Offer Cookies on the Patio!
Dreaming about Thin Mints and Peanut Butter Patties? The Girl Scouts of California’s Central Coast will once again be on the Santa Barbara Maritime Museum (SBMM)’s patio selling their cookies on selected weekends between February 12 and March 12, from 10 am – 4 pm. Just in time for Valentine’s Day! And there are more flavors to choose from than ever before. What will you buy? There are old favorites, like Thin Mints, Peanut Butter Patties, and Shortbread (Trefoils), as well as new flavors like last year’s newest, Adventurefuls, and this year’s Raspberry Rally (available online only). Still thinking of yesteryear’s Girl Scout cookies? Keeping up with the times, the organization’s cookie line-up now also includes vegan and gluten-free flavors. They definitely have something for every taste.
According to Michele Lofte, Director of Product Programs for the Girl Scouts of California’s Central Coast, cookie sales is one of Girl Scouting’s oldest and most iconic traditions. In fact, it is also the world’s largest entrepreneurial program for girls. Tammie Helmuth, CEO for this area, added, “The Girl Scout Cookie program fuels local Girl Scouts’ adventures throughout the year: exploring what interests them, discovering their passions, and taking action on issues they care about. The museum can be a part of that for them. Having a Girl Scout cookie booth here is a great fit.” Every cookie purchase supports the girls’ ability to learn, grow, and thrive through all of life’s adventures. Plus, all proceeds from sales at SBMM will stay local to help fund life-changing, girl-led programs, experiences, and learning.
