USS Cree (ATF-84) Tugboat Model

Description

Radio-controlled model of the ocean-going fleet tug, Cree. Powered by electric motors. The tugboat model is finely detailed on the exterior, including operating water cannons. Cree is built using plank-on-frame constriction with marine plywood keel and bulkheads. It is planked with balsa and covered inside and out with fiberglass and resin. Topsides are built from 1/4 aircraft mahogany plywood covered with finishing resin for strength and fill. The paint is Dietzler automotive acrylic enamel. Featured in the Spring 1981 issue of “Scale Ship Modeler”
