Description
Radio controlled model of a German Type VIIC submarine. U-406 was sister boat to U-96 featured in the 1981 movie Das Boot. Designed and built as a full flooding negative buoyancy model it can submerge and cruise under water. Construction is plank on frame covered inside and out with fiberglass. Featured in the March 1983 issue of “Scale Ship Modeler” magazine.
