Hours and Admission

The Santa Barbara Maritime Museum is located in the Waterfront Center building (formerly the Naval Reserve Building) in the Santa Barbara Harbor. SBMM is an interactive museum – a place where the public can experience maritime culture without leaving the harbor.

Museum Hours

Open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Closed Christmas day, New Year’s day, Thanksgiving day, and the first Friday in
August for Santa Barbara’s Fiesta.

Special Holiday Hours - December 2024

SBMM will have special holiday hours on the following days:

  • Thursday, December 12: 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, December 18: 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday, December 24: 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, December 25: CLOSED
  • Tuesday, December  31: 10:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday, January 1: CLOSED
  • Tuesday, January 7: 12:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Museums for All

SBMM participates in the Museums for All program, offering discounted admission pricing to anyone presenting an EBT card, SNAP benefits, or receiving food assistance in the United States (any state). All individuals in the same group can receive the Museums for All discount by showing an EBT card when entering the museum.

Museums for All Admission is as Follows:
  • Per person (age 6+): $2
  • Youth (age 5 and under): Free

SBMM provides a discounted annual membership through the Museums for All program. One Crew (or family) membership can be purchased per EBT card for $20. Benefits include:

  • Free museum admission for up to two adults and all children/grandchildren under 18-years old.
  • Two guest passes (for up to four guests).
