- Dr. Jarrell Jackman, who explored the Presidio’s contributions to Santa Barbara in his talk “Santa Barbara’s Royal Presidio: Maritime Moments and More.”
- Fish Reef Founder and CEO Chris Goldblatt, who shared an update on his Sea Cave® project.
- Marine Genome Project Co-Founder Daniel Ortega, who discussed how genetic tools contribute to the conservation of marine ecosystems.
- Ralph Clevenger, who explored the habitats of polar bears and Kermode bears – emphasizing the fragility of the ecosystems upon which they are dependent.
- Dr. Raymond Ashley, who showcased the narrative surrounding the beloved sailboat Butcher Boy.
Admission and Cost
The cost is free for SBMM Navigators Circle members; $10 for all other members; and $20 for the general public. SBMM members will enjoy a pre-lecture reception from 6:15-6:45 p.m. Learn more about becoming a member.
Seating
Most individuals attending the lecture will be able to find seats on the main floor. When overflow seating becomes necessary due to larger than normal attendance, guests are invited to view the lecture from the museum’s Munger Theater. All lecture seating is first come, first served.
