Casson Trenor has dedicated his career to improving the relationship between human beings and our oceans. Trenor is the author of two books on ocean conservation, including 2019’s Umijoo, a children’s book about food, our oceans, and the importance of making responsible choices. He is a frequent commentator on ocean issues and has been featured in many international media outlets, including CNN, TIME, Forbes, Asahi Shimbun, and the New York Times.
Umijoo, a newly released children’s book, written by Casson Trenor and beautifully illustrated by Caia Koopman, is about ocean conservation. A 72-page fully hand-painted story, Umijoo is about a curious girl who, with the help of a little magic, journeys deep underwater and learns about love, responsibility, and balance from her undersea adventures. It targets ages 8-11, but the art and themes are designed to enchant readers of all ages.
