Santa Barbara Harbor

The Santa Barbara Maritime Museum is one of the premier venues for education, information, and lectures about the Santa Barbara Channel and its 13,000 years of human interaction with the sea.

We're conveniently located in the heart of Santa Barbara Harbor, next to several restaurants, shops, and activities for the entire family, including boat rides, kayak rentals, and so much more. Come on down, visit the museum, and make a day of exploring all the Santa Barbara Harbor has to offer. You'll be glad you did.

Thursdays – Tuesdays 10 am – 5 pm. Closed Wednesdays!

No reservation is required to visit the Museum.

We’re closed on New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and the first Friday in August for Fiesta.

Members of The Santa Barbara Trust for Historic Preservation and Council of American Maritime Museums (CAMM) also receive free admission!

*Children under 12 must be accompanied by someone 16 years or older.

SBMM is ranked 12 out of 186 “Things to Do in Santa Barbara” by Trip Advisor.  SBMM is also a Certified California Green Business and the 2019 Nonprofit of the Year awarded by the Santa Barbara Regional Chamber Commerce.

As of May 27, 2021, SBMM is part of Museums for All, now offering discounted pricing for anyone presenting an EBT card, SNAP benefits, or receiving food assistance in the U.S. (any state). All individuals in the same group can receive the Museums for All discount with the presentation of one (1) EBT card. Only one (1)  Crew Membership is allowed to be purchased per EBT card. SBMM will extend discounted admission price to all in the same group as follows:

  • $2 admission per person age 6+
  • Free admission for age 5 and under
  • $20 Crew Membership
