Sunday | October 2, 2022 | 9am – 3pm | High School Students*
The Girls in Ocean Science (GiOS) Conference will connect influential, female ocean experts with the next generation of ocean ambassadors. Our hope is to encourage and empower young women to explore maritime and ocean science-based fields of study and careers.
Our goal is to bring together bright minds to create idea-focused conversations and hands-on experiences that foster learning, inspiration, and wonder. During our GiOS conference, female experts will share their lives, careers, and interests with local high-school students.
Participating student scientists will spend the day conducting research in labs and at sea aboard a local vessel. Young women who love science or are just beginning to show an interest will come away empowered to explore the field further.
