The Santa Barbara Maritime Museum (SBMM), in cooperation with the Sea Glass and Ocean Arts Festival, will host the last Sea Glass Pop-Up of 2022 on Sunday, December 11, on the museum’s patio overlooking the Harbor–just in time for holiday gift-giving. This event is free and open to the public from 10 am-4 pm.
The Santa Barbara Sea Glass & Ocean Arts Festival, which is traditionally held each year in September, has been cancelled for 2022, but sea glass aficionados and collectors needn’t wait until next year to see and purchase the latest designs. They can now find a select number of the artists at the Santa Barbara Maritime Museum on Sunday, December 11, 2022.
Sea Glass Pop-Ups feature handmade, ocean-themed art and authentic sea glass jewelry created by dozens of talented artists. For this next exhibit and sale, we are excited to host some all-new collections offered by the following local artists:
- Marcia McNally
- Louise Sciutto
- Barbara Booth
- Kim Korinke
- Violet Coto
- Dan & Emily Robinette
- Crystal Hollis
- Sarah Miller
- Suzanne Rattigan
- Alan & Karen Clark
- Silvia Pauletto
- Lauri Allen
- Kristin Apuzzo
Each year, the festival designates a nonprofit recipient to receive part of the proceeds. This year, we are proud to announce that SBMM will receive some of the proceeds to help it continue offering its educational programs at no cost to students who attend Title I schools and after-school programs for low-income populations. The only one of its kind in Southern California, the Santa Barbara Sea Glass and Ocean Arts Festival is deeply rooted in the Santa Barbara community, with local artists, the venue, and the museum’s commitment to going green. At this time, it is anticipated that the full two-day festival will return September 9-10, 2023 at the Elks Lodge in Santa Barbara.
